Extract: Seeds, 2017
One by one, I pick raspberry seeds from a bowl of jam. After carefully combing the gelatinous mound of all seeds, I am left with an empty bowl. Reflecting upon childhood associations of raspberry picking, I liken this self-negating task to my present role as familial steward, and ultimately question the value and purpose of my repetitive, painstaking parental duties.
