Undocumented Histories

Site specific installation, 2015

Undocumented Histories reimagines the stories of past residents from a contentious West Michigan urban neighborhood. Throughout the 20th century the area transitioned economically and ethnically, and as of 2016 was demolished for development. Undocumented Histories presents a fragmented narrative constructed from remnants found in the neighborhood's abandoned buildings, and ultimately weaves together past, present, fact and fiction to consider the way we view, value and participate in history and place making.

This project was produced for Site:Lab’s 2015 Rumsey Street Project.
